Nashville Film Festival

East Nashville Magnet Middle Enters 3rd Year of Partnership with Nashville Film Festival

We are proud to partner with the Nashville Film Festival to offer our students an introduction to documentary film-making. Through the NashFilm's FLIX program (Film-Led Interactive Exchanges), students view and analyze a variety of documentary films to learn the different components of film-making and how a director uses intentional stylistic choices to share a vision or message that is creative and appealing.

Students then have the opportunity to attend an in-person film screening during the festival and participate in a dialogue with the filmmaker.

During the 2021 festival, 8th grade students screened The Neutral Ground in the classroom and participated in discussion with the film's Director, CJ Hunt.

The 2020 festival was virtual, and our students viewed The Library That Dolly Built in the classroom before meeting with Director Nick Geidner virtually.
